On Sunday 30 August at 12 noon at Lake Terrasole in Limone Piemonte, there will be a concert by Gigi De Nissa. The concert is part of the Terrasole Festival summer music programme.
The Terrasole Festival 2026 is now in its second year. As usual, the concerts will take place on the picturesque raft on Lake Terrasole, with the aim of strengthening the connection with the region’s music through a programme focused on folk music, seen as a bridge between local roots and influences from different musical genres.
The festival aims to promote local cultural roots, placing the relationship with the language and identity of the region at the centre, in a continuous dialogue between tradition and modernity. The festival also continues its collaboration with the Occit’amo Festival: a significant synergy that helps give the Terrasole Festival a broader and more international dimension.
Artistic direction is entrusted to Roberto Avena and Chiara Cesano, two musicians who have been active in the region for years, who bring their expertise and artistic backgrounds to the festival. Both collaborate with leading acts such as Gran Bal Dub (Sergio Berardo + Madaski), Dunkelbunt, Silvio Orlando, Lindal, the Grande Orchestra Occitana and Slow Food’s Terra Madre Orchestra, taking their musical exploration to national and international stages.
GIGI DE NISSA
Author, composer and performer, founder of the Niçois Independent Carnival and also singer and frontman of the Nice-based reggae band Nux Vomica, Louis Pastorelli has always been deeply involved in the life of his city, its history, its culture and its oral traditions. He explores the facets of an intimate and friendly, carnivalesque and satirical world, recounting everyday life, poking fun at local politics and portraying familiar characters from life in Nice.
It is with a desire to blend tradition and modernity that Louis Pastorelli, alias GIGI de NISSA, shares his personal songs with us. Furthermore, he is fully committed to the revival of Occitan culture launched by Massilia Sound System and Fabulous Trobadors in the 1980s. Gigi de Nissa has worked with contemporary musicians (Moussu T, Sauvaigo) on a repertoire of traditional local songs (Joan Nicola, Louis Unia) and on his own compositions.
The festival is organised by Riserva Bianca in collaboration with the Municipality of Limone Piemonte. You can reach the venue via the Bottero cable car; click here for prices and timetables for the ski lifts.
